Country music queen Dolly Rebecca Parton is our legend pick for today!She is an American singer-songwriter,multi-Instrumentalist,actress,author and philanthropist,best known for her country music.Dolly is an icon who is very much admired for her voluptuous figure and powerful voice which made her popular on both screen and stage.

Born on January19,1946 in Locust ridge,Tennesse,She was one of twelve children raised in a poor family.
which inspired one of her greatest songs "Coat of many colours".By age 11,she was singing on a local radio station and after graduating from high school,she moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music.

Parton launched her solo career in 1967,and partnered with Porter Wagoner for his television show from 1967-1975,she remained primarily a solo act.(It was for Wagoner that parton dedicated the ever-popular"I will always love you".)In 1975&1976,she won the country music award for female vocalist.In 1977,Dolly got her first Grammy award:Best female country vocal performance,for her song"Here you come again".Her movie debut was in nine to five(1980)where she got an oscar nomination for writing the title tune.In 2000,she was inducted into the Country music Hall of Fame.
